What You Need to Do: This position of Senior Writer/Editor will be responsible for concepting, writing and editing blogs, infographic content, social posts, email content, product marketing materials, and multimedia scripts to expand awareness of the brand, connect with clients, and generate leads. Your responsibilities span from understanding our Wealth + Health brand to successfully writing content for team assignments, to reviewing work for brand and product positioning and accuracy of Transamerica content across all channels and platforms. You will work closely with our Creative Director, Managing Editor, and channel marketing teams to understand and implement our Wealth + Health positioning, value-add, content strategy, writing, and editing — down to our individual product level.

What Success Looks Like: This role requires the ability to roll up your sleeves and craft stories emphasizing our brand message with all product lines as well as review and edit team members’ work. We need you to be an agent for collaboration, advocating for and managing relational activities with a wide range of key stakeholders including sales, compliance, the broader marketing team, and related business partners.

What You Need:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, English, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Five years of professional writing experience using traditional and digital formats.
Working knowledge of digital content best practices and content management systems (CMS)
Advanced copywriting and editing skills across a range of media (e.g. web, print, video, presentations) and writing styles from conceptual to journalistic.
Creative thinker able to turn concepts into robust messaging.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines.
Relationship building skills to assimilate ideas in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications or Journalism.
5+ years’ experience writing and editing high-quality product marketing content
3+ years in the financial industry positioning employee benefit products
Experience creating online content

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the financial services/insurance industry.
Advanced knowledge of digital content best practices.
